Roshel thanks for your time, so, tell us, how long have you been a makeup artist and how did you get your start in the industry?
I been a certified makeup artist since 2013, so 7 years. I got my start in the industry when I started to get into modeling, fashion shows, and pageants.

Who are some people that have inspired you throughout your career?
Yasin Cuevas, Keishla Alicea and Gerardo Encinas. When it came down to fashion shows and photoshoots those were the people who would do my makeup and I learned a lot from them.

What do you love most about makeup?
What I love most about makeup is that I can use it as a way to express myself. Some people have their paint brushes but I have my makeup brushes.

If you weren’t a makeup artist, what else would you do?
If I weren’t a makeup artist, I would probably be into the hair. In high school, I would experiment and dye half my hair red or give myself highlights. From time to time I trim my own hair.

What is it about your style that sets you apart from other makeup artists here in Cleveland?
I believe what sets me apart from other makeup artists here in Cleveland is that I still leave my clients feeling natural. A lot of my clients tell me that they have gone to other people and that they either make them look completely different or they make them feel like they have pounds of makeup on. I like to enhance their natural beauty.

What are some common beauty mistakes that girls make?
Some common beauty mistake that girls make is following every makeup trend on social media, especially on Instagram or Youtube. Not every trend is for you or necessary, sometimes less is more.

What’s your favorite makeup brush or tool?
My highlighter brush. I cannot be without it.

What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to women?
Don’t follow every beauty trend you see on social media and when it comes to makeup have fun with it.

Anything else you want to say, any shout-out?
Be yourself. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way, don’t try to live up to social media expectations. God gave it to you, flaunt it.
